With the escalation of the war waged by the Zionist entity on Gaza on the one hand, and southern Lebanon on the other, and as a result of the war entering its second year, which began on October 7, 2023, after Hamas launched its sweeping attack against the Zionist entity, which represented a shock to the latter, as a result of the element of surprise first, the accuracy of the attack second, and the extent of the enemy’s losses third, the Israeli response was – as usual – by launching an air attack, targeting everything moving on the ground in the sector, from buildings, civilians, hospitals, schools, and infrastructure, in an absurd manner, through the use of hundreds of aircraft, leading to the start of a ground war that entered its second year, without achieving all the goals of the war, which the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity Netanyahu promised. In the midst of the genocidal war in Gaza, amid the inability of the international community to stop these massacres, or take any serious position to punish the Israeli occupation for these crimes, we recall here what happened after 1992 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was described as the massacre of the era at that time, but what happened? The story began with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, which controlled Yugoslavia, which included Bosnia and Herzegovina, while it had a Muslim majority. According to the 1991 census, (44%) of the population considered themselves Muslims (Bosnians), (32.5%) Serbs, (17%) Croats, and (6%) described themselves as Yugoslavs. Yugoslavia eventually disintegrated into Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. What concerns us here is the latter, whose population is mostly Muslim, and when it wanted independence from Serbia, the disaster happened, as Croatia intervened on the one hand and the Serbs on the other. The Serbs rejected the idea of Bosnia’s independence from them, and began brutal military operations, despite the fact that the Bosnians formed combat units to confront the Serbs. Finally, the United Nations intervened to impose safe areas after horrific massacres. The United Nations deployed international protection units, from the Dutch unit in the city of Srebrenica, and prepared it as demilitarized. Once the people were reassured and handed over their weapons, the disaster began, as Serbian paramilitary units, in addition to the Serbian army, took the men from the refugee camps, isolated the children and adults from the women, and killed nearly (8) thousand men, and raped thousands of women, and the massacre of history was considered in 1995. After more than four years of suffering, killing, displacement, and a war of extermination against Muslims, the United Nations finally intervened, and NATO began bombing the Serbs and expelling them to their places. Meanwhile, units from Bosnia advanced to impose their control, but after what? After the horrific crime that shook history at the time, and was not recognized until 2007 as a crime of genocide. In 2017, the accused persons of that massacre were tried. In this context, if the incident had occurred in another location, or a party close to, or allied with the United States of America, the situation would have been different. Today we are discussing what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon. In Gaza, there is a complete siege, preventing the entry of aid, in addition to more than (40) thousand martyrs, more than (100) thousand injured, the destruction of all infrastructures, the killing of children, and the most heinous crimes are now taking place in Gaza. Where is the international community? Where is the United Nations? Where is the Security Council? Where is the International Court of Justice? What if the matter was reversed? On the other hand, the Zionist entity has cancelled its recognition of UNRWA, an international organization for the relief and employment of refugees, as the entity has reached this level of disdain for the international community, while we have not heard any reaction commensurate with the size of the disaster. Everything that happened in Bosnia, and now in Gaza and Lebanon, is the responsibility of the United States of America, because it always prevents the international community from playing its role, especially in Gaza. It flatters the Zionist entity and supports it with everything it needs, in addition to the international cover.
