Director General Statement

The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Karbala is founded upon a firm belief that knowledge constitutes the primary pillar of state-building and the foundation for shaping its future. Conscious thought, in turn, is regarded as the most effective weapon in confronting challenges and fostering genuine renaissance. The Center aspires to be a beacon of sound intellectual discourse and a national house of expertise, producing in-depth studies that address the critical issues of Iraq and the region with rigorous scientific awareness and a renewed strategic vision.
We seek to serve as a bridge between the university, state institutions, and decision-makers by offering practical alternatives and well-grounded solutions that emerge from scientific research and are guided by reason and professional experience. Our mission draws inspiration from the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), embodying the spirit of reform, justice, and human dignity—principles that guide us in resisting deviation and building a society governed by truth and flourishing with fairness.
Furthermore, we are committed to promoting a culture of strategic thinking and strengthening the values of dialogue and openness to diverse intellectual schools, acknowledging that plurality is a source of enrichment, not weakness. We place special emphasis on youth and emerging researchers, viewing them as the cornerstone for renewing visions, revitalizing intellectual thought, and unleashing creative potential.
